A true keeper. An early 20th-century oak-framed shop card counter or window sign, displaying the Shops Act of 1936 regulations relating to Sunday opening hours. This original sign permits the premises to remain open for 12 hours on Sundays for the sale of tobacco and related goods.
Printed using traditional letterpress, featuring bold slab-serif typography, it is a superb and authentic example of British retail signage and commercial history. A rare survivor from the interwar period and a highly collectible piece of vintage shop ephemera.
